About Us

Miranda Richardson is the owner/director of the nail technology school Mjnailz Academy.

She was born and raised in St. Louis, Mo and decided in 2010 to migrate to Tucson, AZ for a much-needed change. She eventually met her husband who is a talented barber and due to his success encouraged her to pursue a career in something she enjoyed; which was nails.

Miranda’s path in pursuing a nail career is unlike most stories. Instead of getting her license and building clientele directly out of high school she did what was most acceptable in her community and went to a four-year private college and received a bachelor’s degree in Business.

After careful consideration she decided at 30 years old to get her nail tech license. This was a difficult decision not only due to her age but because she had a career with an amazing salary and great benefits. She realized that the opportunity to perfect doing something she loved was a much greater reward.

Her passion became very visible in her nail artistry which inspired so many others. She began donating her time teaching others her knowledge and skills. She soon realized there was an overwhelming demand in her area for nail techs that provide a personalized service and there wasn’t a school available for just nail techs in Tucson. She saw this as a major problem and a niche that needed to be filled so she decided to get her nail tech instructors license to help fulfill this void.

And this is where the birth of Mjnailz Academy began.
